So, you are a house sitter?

Yes, I am. And I love it.

A lot of people seem to be fascinated by the fact that I have been a house & pet sitter for many years now. I used to be a teacher and that's a proper job (according to my mum). But house sitting? That sounds a bit weird...

No, I don't get paid to house sit but my husband has a 'real' paid job. Yes, we sleep in someone else's bed all the time but so do you when you stay in a hotel. No, we don't pay rent at all and most of the time no utilities either.

We've cuddled an army of cats and dogs and have moved more times than we can remember. In a way it has changed us for the better and we are aware of how having more time has made our lives richer. And we (or I should say 'I') have also stopped buying things we don't really need. The mere thought of having to move it afterwards is enough to make us think twice. Now that's an eco friendly way of living and it does save us money.
Despite all the moving we've made some good friends through our house sitting experience and some of them are as nomadic as we are.

If our life ever goes back to normal we'll have our list of favourite breeds of cats and dogs ready to get our own pet again. And if I was then to start a new job I could be an interior consultant. You wouldn't believe how much we know about good and bad floor plans and colors in houses.

At the moment we're far from retiring from house sitting, especially now that we've created Easy House Sitting. Our aim is to create a large and easily accessible network of house sitters and pet owners Australia wide. On this blog I'll regularly write about all kinds of house sitting and pet matters. All feedback or suggestions for future blog topics can be sent to info@easyhousesitting.com

Hoping to stay in touch,
Nele

Has your snoring prevented you from getting good sleep for years? If you have not seen a doctor about this issue, you might be experiencing a dangerous and serious form of snoring associated with sleep apnea. If this rings true, then try not worry!. The article below can help.

To help with your sleep apnea, you need to consult with your doctor about the best CPAP machine to use. Take into consideration both the noise and size of the CPAP machine. Some machines are smaller than a bread box and can be whisper quiet. Your doctor should be able to point you in the right direction of a capable machine.

If you are over weight, going on a diet can reduce your sleep apnea, or in rare cases, eliminate it completely. Maintaining a healthy weight can help you breathe easier, so losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight when you have trouble breathing is an obvious step in treating your sleep apnea.

Improve your sleep apnea by slimming down a bit. Recent research showed dramatic improvements in overweight men who shed 25 pounds over a period of one year to reduce sleep apnea symptoms. In some cases, the weight loss resulted in a cure of sleep apnea where no further treatment of the condition was necessary.

If you are taking a great deal of medicines on a regular basis, sit with your doctor and discuss how they can be reduced. Side effects from prescription medication can be making your sleep apnea worse. Keep a dialog open with your doctor and make sure he is up to date on all your symptoms.

Drink one cup of caffeinated coffee a few hours before you go to sleep. It may seem silly to drink a caffeine drink at night, but this can actually help keep your throat open while you sleep. You may have to play around with what time you drink the coffee to avoid restlessness.

Should you suffer from sleep apnea, keep a regular sleep schedule. Your condition is already messing with your regular sleep cycle every night. If you can get on a better scheducle you will help your symptoms. The adjustment that is most important is your sleep schedule.

Avoid any type of drugs or alcohol if you are experiencing any type of sleep apnea. Drugs and alcohol will slow down your respiratory system, and that is known to be one of the causes of sleep apnea. If you are struggling with this issue, try to get some professional help to overcome these addictions.

People who use alcohol, sedatives, and sleeping pills are far more likely to suffer from sleep apnea. This is because these drugs will relax the throat and cause their breathing to be impaired. Using these drugs before bedtime is more likely to cause sleep apnea than using these drugs during the day.

If you are concerned that you may suffer from sleep apnea, it is important to be diagnosed right away. This way, you can start getting the treatment you need as quickly as possible. The advice you have read in this article can help you find the relief you need from this troublesome condition.

As a pet sitter and a dog waeklr I love hearing recommendations such as these! We not only try to ensure that your pet is well taken care of, we also like to make sure you are as comfortable leaving your pet as possible. Austin Pet Sitters are a great way to reduce the stress you may be putting on your dog by leaving them alone. And with them being cared for in your own home they do not have to be kept in a tiny cage with tons of other dogs barking at them.

What a great outlook Nele!
I have joined thev ranks of silver Nomad this year and decided to house sit my way down the East Coast.
Started at Airlie and am now 7 months later at Coffs Harbour.
Loving it and the beautiful pets I am caring for and seeing new areas and getting to know people in a very intimate way.
The houseowners TRUST me with their lives and privacy and precious pets...It's a good feeling.
